If you've ever asked these questions . . .
- Who is Jesus?
- What is the meaning of life?
- What happens when we die?
- What relevance does Jesus have for our lives?
- How do we deal with guilt?
- Why and how should I read the Bible?
- Why and how do I pray?
- Does God heal today?
. . . then Alpha is
for you!
The Program:
Alpha is a practical overview of the Christian faith for
practicing
Christians as well as those investigating Christianity. Members are
divided into groups who eat dinner together, worship in song, watch a
video, and interact in small groups. Toward the end of the 10
weeks, we spend a Friday night and Saturday morning session on the Holy
Spirit. We culminate our course with a Celebration Dinner, and
invite others to come view the first tape entitled "Christianity:
Boring,
Untrue, and Irrelevant?"
There is no charge for any of the Alpha events.
Alpha is For:
Anyone interested in finding out more
about the Christian faith. Adults of all ages are welcome,
regardless of your religious background.
Learning and laughter. An informal
atmosphere where you can learn about the Christian faith and have fun
at the same time.
People meeting together. An
opportunity to get to know others and to make new friends.
Helping one another. The
small group gives you a chance to discuss issues raised during the
talks.
Ask anything. Alpha is a place where
no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.
In summary, Alpha is based on friendship, having a meal
with others, a talk and small group discussion at a table.
